Spring/summer weddings. The pros – better weather than autumn/winter weddings, the cons – there’s nothing worse than sweating all day in a jet black suit, especially when you’re wearing a tie and your shirt is buttoned up to the top!
However, help is at hand! Now we’re fast approaching the wedding session, I’ve teamed up with Hardy Amies to share with you the best suit for the occasion and what more, a suit that can be invested in and worn again time after time, not just on a wedding day.
If you’re not familiar with Hardy Amies, allow me to introduce you.
Set in London’s most famous tailoring area, Savile Row (number 8 to be precise), Hardy Amies is the perfect location for a classic suit or something you could wear on the med. From the classic single and double-breasted suit in navy, grey and black through to patterned and linen separates in blue, white and denim, Hardy Amies really does have it all and not just that! a beautiful selection of hand-picked grooming products for the modern man including Baxter of California.
I was invited down to choose my perfect wedding season suit, which I was instantly drawn to on arrival, for its versatility potential, colour and fit. In terms of wearing it for the weddings I’m attending throughout the season, I thought of how I could mix it up with different pastel shirts such as pink and green, as well as navy and white. I also imaged myself wearing the suit with a plain white tee and white pumps. I knew at this point that this was the one!
After trying on the suit, a member of staff discussed the hem length on the trousers and we agreed that the suit deserved a cropped length – just above the ankle. I came back a few days later to collect the suit and paired it with a powder mint green shirt and a lightweight leather summer shoe – a look I feel complements the suit without overshadowing the beautiful blue hue.
